We drove up to the Santa Cruz Mountains to see Thomas again this year. This I believe is our 4 time going to A Day out with Thomas. I think it is going to be our last. This visit wasn't nearly as fun as it has been in the past. I don't know what happened this year but this year the event didn't seem as well organized. Maybe it was because we went on the last day instead of the first like we usually do or maybe it is just because the kids aren't as excited about Thomas anymore. Or maybe it was just because we have done it a few times and it is always pretty much the same. Or maybe it was because we sat in traffic for a while on the ride up and it was hot and we were out of spirits. But for what ever reason we weren't impressed by the experience and are very glad we didn't buy train tickets so the event was free for us. We didn't even have to pay for parking because we opted to ride the shuttle in. (This counted as a train ride)
The kids got to bounce around in a bounce house for a bit. They watched a puppet show, wandered around through the gift shop and Henry was thrilled to get Henry the train painted on one arm and then temporary tattooed on the other.
We more or less had a good time and even got to stop at 7 eleven on the way home for slurpees. The kids thought it was a great day.

i've never taken my boys to one of these, even though i've heard they are wonderful. and now they are getting a bit too old for it. we were so thomas obsessed around here for a few years, it was ridiculous.
