Our Kids' First Plane Trip

The last time we flew anywhere was when Sophie was just under 2 years old and we could still take her as a lap child. She doesn't remember it at all except in pictures. The boys have never even been inside an airport. We have picked up people from the airport but that is just driving around the outside and picking them up from the curb. So my kids were soooo excited to take their first plane ride.

They entertained the whole back of the plane with their excited "Wow" and "Whoa" as the plane took off, hit turbulence and landed.
Molly was not impressed with the 5 hour flight. She wanted to go walking as much as she could.
After such a long flight we needed to stretch our legs so one of the first things we did was head to the beach.

Despite the overcast skies and a slight drizzle of rain the kids couldn't wait to go swimming at the beach. It is what they were most looking forward to when we decided to take this trip to Hawaii.
So they frolicked.
and played in the ocean. This beach was very mild. Hardly any waves.
Molly loved the waves too. Every time we talked about our trip to Hawaii she would say "Hawaii Swimming". She knew what she wanted to do.
Do you see the cute Tongan looking little guy behind Molly? He was our reason/excuse for going to Hawaii. He is now officially a part of our extended family. His adoption was finalized and we went to Hawaii to see him blessed and sealed to his parents.
He is only a year old but looks as big if not bigger than Molly. Those Tongan genes sure run on the big side.

It was a great start to a week of fun in the sun and sands of Hawaii.
