Fun Mail

My kids love it when there is a knock at the door. It is always so exciting to see who has come over to visit. Today the light tap on the door was the FedEx guy leaving a little package on our door. The kids were all excited to cut open the little box. And look what I pulled out.
It may look a little boring but this little book is a year worth of blog posts. I started my blog in 2007 and really wanted some way to save all my thoughts, pictures and stories that I have shared over the last few years. I have seen how other people have had their blogs printed into books so I finally did it. I used Blurb and did a very simple design and layout. It was actually pretty simple but time consuming. I had to go through each post and arrange the pictures and things the way I wanted it.

So far I have only done 2007. That means I have 2 more years worth of blog posts to go through. I have already "slurped" my 2008 posts into another book. I just need to go through it now and change the layouts and such. Now that I have done it once I can be a little more creative with this next one. The one problem I am finding is that I am really not a good proof reader. As I am sure any reader here can tell. I tend to just type my thoughts and publish without going over and over it looking for my errors. So now as I read through my posts I am very aware of my glaring mistakes. Hopefully since the book covers my early blogging attempts, I have gotten better with time and practice. I guess I will see as I go through the next year's worth. Hopefully there is progress.
So at the moment I am only two years behind. That is way better than I was with my scrapbooks. This is so much easier.

I've really been wanting to do this but haven't taken the plunge.

You have put a lot of work into all this. I hope you'll find the time to get 2008 ready for the printer!

Good for you!! I love my blog books. I've decided this is my way of scrapbooking.

I love our blog books, too! Why didn't you put a photo on the cover?

I've wanted to do something like this for awhile. I tried Blog2print, but didn't like the fact that you couldn't really edit anything like photo sizes. Were you happy with Blurb? How much editing could you do after you slurped it all up?
